This Is Where I Belong

Well, well, well; Look who actually finished something detailed. I know, I'm just a surprised as you are! I haven't had the time to breath recently, let alone produce something big like this. I've worked my backside off since the auction started, my original idea being thrown out of the window a few days into the auction. I had originally planned to draw her in a forest, with lots of trees, exotic plants and Okapi eating and such around her. Not very christmasy,  right? So that's where the idea for this background came from. I wanted something snowy but bright to show off her wonderful colour. When i found the reference for the background i knew it was perfect, Although i haven't followed it a closely as i should. ( The iceberg and what has been dubbed "Mt Peen" Have been my Nemesis' throughout the whole process.

I almost gave up on this after seeing some of the other wonderful bids, But i have to thank a lot of you awesome people for making me stick to my guns and reminding me that this will indeed be judged against my own gallery * sweeps embarrassing art under the rug* and when i look at this in comparison to my other art, I can definitely see an improvement. It's worth a shot, Right? Although even if i don't win, I'm still very proud of this. It's my first piece with a decent background and I've decided to start using  photo references for things like this more often. And the marker tool. It is amazing. It is the only brush ( minus the eraser) that i used on the background! Proud pie is proud. 

So there's not much else to say, I didn't really have a story in mind for this bid. I guess I've been using it as an Anti-Stress because god knows i need it recently So it's been a lot of drawing with music ( Mainly from Spirit and Disney) and not a lot of thinking.  I don't think i need to say much much it would mean to me if by some miracle i did win her, But i'll be keeping my fingers crossed anyway.
